CAIR-Houston and the Transportation Security Administration Present Airport Security

CAIR-Houston has set up an airport security workshop with the Transportation Security Administration.  TSA is the governmental organization that conducts all security checks at airports across America.  The branch from Houston Intercontinental Airport will be presenting this workshop. Airport security affects all Americans and unfortunately has a bigger, yet negative impact on some Muslims who seem to be targeted for additional security checks. Come find out the facts and be better prepared next time you travel.

911 and Emergency Procedures Workshop with The Harris County Sheriff's Department.

CAIR-Houston has set up an emergency procedures workshop with the communications department of the Harris County Sheriff's Department. This workshop is designed to educate the community about proper 911 procedures and what to do in case of an emergency. An officer from the communications department will be presenting.

Employment Law Workshop, featuring the EEOC.

CAIR-Houston has setup an employment law workshop with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. The workshop is designed to increase the understanding of the rights of employees and employers, recent legislative updates, religious discrimination in the workplace, how a case is handled, and much more. The workshop will be conducted by Joe Bontke of the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, an attorney specializing in Employment Law, and a CAIR-Houston representative.

Civil Rights Workshop: featuring LULAC

CAIR-Houston has set up a civil rights issues workshop with the League United Latin American Citizens. The workshop is to cover issues of concern to both the Muslim & Hispanic communities. The workshop should give perspective on concerns that the Houston's Hispanic community has in common with the Muslim community. From this workshop attendees should better understand how we can work together towards overcoming challenges together.
