Texas Muslim Capitol Day

The Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR) Texas (prominent civil rights and advocacy organization) would like to invite you to Texas Muslim Capitol Day, May 26th, 2011 at the State Capitol, Legislative Conference Room Center E2.002A from 9:00am - 12:00pm.

State Representative Lon Burnam's (D-90) is the host of the meeting to encourage civic participation of the Texas Muslim community. State House Representatives are invited to speak at the forum. Most concerning is upcoming HB1-budget bill, and HB275 which is anti-Shariah law legislation. Furthermore, coalition partners are expected to be in attendance including: Houston Peace and Justice Center(HPJC), Dallas Peace Center (DPC), League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC), National Association for the advancement of Colored People (NAACP), American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU).
